Spring has sprung at the Rhododendron Garden!

We headed out to the Garden one afternoon, to fulfill an overdue promise to a friend:  see if the ducklings had shown up yet at the Rhododendron Garden.

Stuart was keen!

Marcus was not keen.  Note the posture.

We did manage to find a few ducklings.

And a few more goslings, complete with busybody Uncle Horatio guarding them.

Horatio is the big African Brown Goose.  He doesn't like me.  The feeling is mutual.  The goslings, however, had no problem with me at all and got much closer to me than I expected.

I think Stuart is actually yawning here.  Goslings have no power over him.

Sure the goslings are cute now, but when we come back next week with our homeschool group, they'll be as big as full-grown chickens.

Stuart insisted that I take pictures of the flowers.

That's not a flower!

That's not a flower either!

Okay, there are some flowers.

Hmm...usually Marcus is trailing well behind and Stuart is running ahead.  What is Stuart looking at?

I guess he found more ducklings!

And our very non-bashful squirrel friend.  No, we don't have any corn.  Shoo.
