Train art.

After Marcus drew all over his room with a pencil, I promised the kids that I would paper the big table and they could draw all over it.  This is what they did.

First they drew roads all over the paper.  Then Stuart declared he was going to draw train tracks.  But wait! He had a better idea!

After they brought in all the tracks, they brought up the engines.

They even brought up the roundhouse.  That roundhouse is heavy, and they brought it up from the basement.

Stuart added a few features to the map.  He pointed out north.

He added a few interstate highways.  Like I-1.

And I-4.

Also, I-6.

Hey, it's the I-5!  We actually have this one!

When you start a project with kids, it rarely ends how you expect.  Which can be awesome.

Notice they just left the art supplies in place and built around them.

They were NOT happy about moving this project so that we could eat meals.
