I haven't been taking many pictures.

Life gets in the way sometimes. Also, it looks like someone changed the settings on the camera, and all the pics are tiny. Grr.  We are shopping for a better camera--probably a digital SLR, instead of this point-and-shoot.  I love our point-and-shoot (Sony Cybershot DSC-99), but the lens really limits the pictures I can take.

This was one of those rare evenings that Stu reads to Marcus.  So I snapped a picture.

Where was Stuart?  Reading on the other side of the room.  So quiet. So peaceful.  I really need to remove that curtain hardware.

Marcus demolished a couple of spare ribs and left nothing but the bones.  The mashed cauliflower?  He pushed it around, then left it for his brother.  Stuart actually cheers when I tell him we are having mashed cauliflower.

Marcus putting some tracing pages into his notebook.

Now that Marcus is interested in drawing lines, I dragged out a few workbooks and he's been having school fun.

Of course it's not a day with math if someone doesn't build a wall with the math blocks. Stuart was asking Marcus for the right blocks to build the wall, and Marcus was rummaging through the box to find them. Teamwork!  Can you find the cranky cat sitting on the floor register?

Copywork! I'm not sure why he's doing this at the table. He never does copywork at the table.

Yesterday we were planning to have guacamole sliders for dinner. I thought it might be nice to have buns that were paleo and yet still bun-like (instead of lettuce wraps). So I went to Elana's Pantry, and Elana didn't disappoint: this recipe, baked for half the time in a muffin tin, made passable buns. I even ordered a whoopie pie/muffin top pan, to make flatter bunlike items in the future. These were a bit tall, as you can see in the picture. I didn't remember until the very end to snap a picture. Stuart decided that he wanted mustard in the middle of his burger, guacamole on bottom, and ketchup on top.

I recently got a pullup bar.  It sits in the door frame of the playroom.  The kids are going to use it anyway, I might as well put it where they can do so easily.  No, I can't do a pullup yet.

Stuart can jump from the chair and do a chin-up.  That's more than I can do!  But I will get there.
