Stuart reminded me that we have an old camera.

Suddenly, Marcus has an interest in coloring, writing, and drawing. He drew eyes for his "cot". Not for his "cat", that would have made too much sense.

While Stuart does math, three hours late. Due to the exploding lightbulb issue. Do you know how fun it is to check a bunch of Math-u-See manipulatives for glass? They are hollow in the back and could hold tiny shards of glass. Argle.

He doesn't really behave for long, though.  By about 11am, he's toast.

This is the cleanest the school room ever gets.

See, it doesn't look like anything piled on the shelves will actually fall today.

Marcus playing with his responsibility chart. Because he's, you know, responsible.

Marcus paints the bottom of his pumpkin. He painted the top last night. Quick Marcus, give me a smile!

Oh wait, give me a deer-in-the-headlights look instead!

Stuart was pleased as punch to be using his watercolors. He painted a picture of me, he says. (I'll bet he thinks I'm still mad about the glass.)

While they were painting, I was mostly making soup. Leftover pork shoulder, dried onion, garlic powder, chicken broth, frozen peas, and finely diced carrots. Not what I was consider a culinary triumph, just "use up the pork and chicken broth before they go bad, I don't want to freeze them." Both of them had two bowls. And said they liked it. I'm shocked but pleased.
