On Saturday we went to the pumpkin patch. All Marcus wanted to do was roll down the hills!
We chose Plumper Pumpkin Patch because they have a pumpkin trebuchet, plus apparently another trebuchet and two cannons. They were shooting at a car in a nearby field. I couldn't get a good picture of the festivities, but here is their arsenal.
We might have run through the corn maze a few times.
We took the hay ride...
...and left with some goodies. Now, this pumpkin patch wasn't exactly cheap--$24 for the four of us to do the activities, $24 for lunch, and $24 for what you see here in the wagon. (There's another spaghetti squash behind the pumpkins.)
Today we went over to Hoyt Aboretum and hiked a bit. The leaves are really just starting to turn.
My kids chose to go uphill. I'm okay with that.
Um, Marcus on a stump!
The only thing to make this hike better would have been to do it earlier. We could have easily spent another hour there.
There were other things we did this weekend, but didn't get pictures. We went to the St. Agatha School Harvest Dance. We belong to St. Agatha Church, but we don't use the school so we don't often find out about things going on over there. This time, we were invited by a kind neighbor whose daughter attends preschool there. It was fun! Did I mention there was booze at the elementary school's dance? Apparently our new church has booze at ALL occasions. Good to know.
I'm pretty sure we're taking the week off of school. Any ideas for what to do this week?
