My friend Jenny told me about this run in 2011. I decided, "What the heck, it's a mile from my house. Why not?" She and I have both done the race each year. This year it was out in Hillsboro.
First the obligatory Cute Picture of My Men:
This run includes a 1-mile kids' run. They also had a "Motivation Station" set up where the kids could make signs to hold up to encourage their moms. Here are my boys making signs before their race.
Random cute picture of my Stuarts.
Stu ran alongside Marcus, and Stuart ran on his own. I was along the course to cheer them on. I almost missed Stuart because he ran fast. He ended up being 9th overall, 5th in his age group (7-9 year old boys).
This was Marcus' first race. Stu reports that he didn't stop running the entire time.
No, there weren't any decent pictures of me. But check out my new Vibrams! These are running-specific Vibrams. They made for a great race, even with all the little turf bits that got stuck inside them.
The boys held up their signs and cheered for me. It was great.
Again, no good pictures of me. Here's the best post-race zombie picture I could find.
I can't leave you with that. Here, have the same cute picture of My Men.
Hope you had a great Mother's Day! I did!
