Life after surgery restrictions.

Stuart had leg surgery on Jan 2, wore a hip-to-toe cast all January, and was unable to do many of his favorite activities until Easter.  Lately we've been getting in as many of those activities as possible.  He outgrew his old bike and we got him a new one.  He's been scootering, running, and jumping everywhere.  Finally he can play on playgrounds again, so he's back to working on his monkeybars skills.

And, of course, making nasty faces.  But see those teeth growing in!  I hardly recognize him without that giant gap.

Meanwhile, Marcus is now trying out the monkeybars.

Stuart has decided to borrow my watch and time himself running laps around the swingset.

Marcus, in the meantime, practiced his funny faces.

And then he successfully completed the monkeybars!

In the middle of this is a picture of Stuart at Cub Scouts.  He has his ribbon from the Pinewood Derby.  (He came in dead last.)

Another pic of Stuart, this time at Reed Canyon.  We've lived about a mile from Reed Canyon for seven years and had never gotten over there until last weekend.

Marcus looking at Reed Canyon.

Switching gears, here's Stuart yesterday on a park baseball field.  He has wet hair to cool himself off and he thought it was the neatest thing ever.

Token cute picture of Marcus.

I'm pretty sure Stuart intends to tackle me.  Why do boys have to be so rough?
