World Forestry Center

In October, LivingSocial did a deal for cheap tickets to the World Forestry Center on Mondays.  This Monday we finally used our voucher.

I know kids love to drive the Jeep.

Aboard the "train".  We couldn't get Marcus out of the Jeep.

There's a bat exhibit right now.  Here Stuart is listening through giant bat ears.  And I am trying very hard not to drop the camera while laughing.

Stuart is running his hands over the raised images of different bats.  You were supposed to use aluminum foil to rub an impression, but the kids were completely nonplussed.  Notice I didn't say that they weren't impressed by the impressions.

Playing a video game about how much food bats eat!  They eat lots of bugs or a few figs, kids.

Planting fake plastic trees in fake plastic dirt.  With plastic shovels.

Marcus is a smoke jumper!  He's trying to steer his parachute and land on a target projected onto the floor.

Later our smoke jumper turned surly.  This may be my favorite picture of the week.  He is saying, "No pictures."  He got that from this video.  At the end.

Stuart tries his hand at smoke jumping.

World Forestry Center vanquished for another year!
