Oh, my...a new toy.

What...is...that?



That giant hulking beast? It's a blender. Specifically, a Blendtec blender. Ever seen the Will it Blend? videos? Yeah, one of those. This is a refurbished one--Starbucks just changed out all their blenders and there's a ton of these on the market right now. Stu got this for my birthday. Which hasn't happened yet, I'm still 39. But my husband got me a blender for my 40th birthday. Stuart was rather apprehensive because the jar says, "Dairy" right on the front, and he cares about his brother's allergies. Doesn't seem to mind tormenting his brother, but worries about the dairy.



Anyway, this is the same blender--it even has an enclosure to cut down on noise!--but I'm preparing to make almond milk. Five seconds later, there was almond bits, water, and foam all over the place. The commercial blender lid? It doesn't stay on. Even if I hold it down, stuff leaks everywhere. I ordered a new, bigger jar and residential-style lid.

And here's a cute picture dairy-allergic boy, for no particular reason. We were at Johnson Creek Park on Friday afternoon, enjoying the last little bit of summer.



He likes to climb to the top and tell me he is taller than I am.
